Twig Brooch by Francisco Rebajes

Circa 1950s this one of kind brooch is by Dominican jeweler, Francisco Frank Rebajes. He came to America in 1923 and by the mid 1930's opened a shop in Greenwich Village. By the end of the decade the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum featured pieces of his jewelry in their exhibitions. And the 1939 New York World’s Fair commissioned Rebajes to design several large abstract sculptures for the theatre in the United States Federal Building. This a fabulous collector piece in excellent condition.
