Based on Alan’s decades of experience as a professional jewelry designer and instructor of these skills, you will experience a whole new way of looking at your creativity and tapping into ideas that are waiting below the surface.

Over the two days Alan will demonstrate the basics of sketching jewelry and rendering it in color for presentation and development. This workshop is perfect for those who say, “I can’t draw.” Follow step-by-step procedures to bring original ideas into 2-D drawings and 3-D models for you to develop.

Student Work

The intensive format covers four different projects, each of which stimulates fresh new ideas and results in tangible, original, and workable jewelry designs. Discussion will include how to make the new pieces. No jewelry is created in the class. The focus is on the theoretical application of design principles that can later be put into real form back at your own studio.

Open to all levels, from beginners to professionals, this class offers invaluable tips, tricks, and techniques to invigorate and stimulate creative, new designs. Participants walk away with many sketches, three-dimensional models, and finished drawings.
